New Jersey Hospital To Use AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Security Management System

Capital Health, a provider of advanced medicine in New Jersey, has chosen to install AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Security Management System at its new hospital in Hopewell Township, N.J.

AMAG Technology, a security management system provider encompassing access control, IP video and intrusion detection, along with EDI, Ltd. a professional consulting and design firm, worked together to provide Capital Health with a security solution that will protect patients, staff and assets at its brand new state-of-the-art medical building, which is opening later this year.

The Symmetry Security Management System will integrate with Milestone XProtect video surveillance software to provide a complete security management system for the 237-bed facility.  The integrated system will link alarms and camera views, providing security officers with an immediate view of events.  The instant knowledge allows security officers to make fast, accurate decisions about how to best respond to situations.

Symmetry’s visitor management module will allow the hospital to actively manage the many visitors it receives daily, while maintaining a high level of protection for staff and patients.

“Hospitals are complex to secure with the many facets of security needed,” said AMAG Technology’s Vice President of North American Sales, Mike Taylor.  “Symmetry Security Management connects the various hospital security and building functions into one easy-to-manage application.”

Capital Health is the region’s leader in advanced medicine, with significant investments in advanced technologies. Comprised of its Mercer Campus, Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, N.J. and the Capital Health outpatient facility in Hamilton, Capital Health is a growing healthcare organization with construction underway for a new, state-of-the-art hospital in Hopewell Township, N.J. and significant expansion of services at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, both scheduled to be completed in 2011.

“The new Capital Health Medical Center -- Hopewell will be the model of advancements in healthcare design and technology,” said EDI Ltd. Senior Consultant, Jason Barton.  “The security system will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the hospital.  AMAG was a good fit because of the integration features their system offers, as well as the visitor management module that is included with their standard system.  Capital Health security will be able to monitor all aspects of the security system and enroll visitors from the same user interface, which will make this system very easy and efficient to use.”

EDI Ltd. is a professional consulting and design firm specializing in communication technologies, physical security, audio-visual systems and data center design with offices in Atlanta and Seattle.

Johnson Controls is the installing integrator for Capital Health.
