Security Week Set for Nov. 1-3 in New York

With a population of more than eight million people, New York is the most densely populated major city in the United States. It is fitting then, that the first annual Security Week should take place here. Comprised of three separate, yet inter-related events: Security 500 (Nov. 1, Roosevelt Hotel); Securing New Ground (Nov. 1-2, Roosevelt Hotel) and ISC Solutions (Nov. 2-3, Jacob Javits Convention Center); Security Week will bring together the security distribution channel to focus on the business of security in the metropolitan New York area.

Security 500 is an executive conference on managing and measuring the value of the security function within an organization featuring a keynote presentation by Louis Barani, World Trade Center security director, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. This year's event will reveal the exclusive 2011 Security 500 report. Securing New Ground, owned and produced by the Security Industry Association, brings together executives, investors and users of security technology, and all attendees receive the 2011 Securing New Ground Annual Report. ISC Solutions offers product and service sourcing opportunities for integrators, consultants, specifiers, dealers and installers in the Northeast.

The Security Week Gala Dinner will take place on Nov. 2 to honor the achievements and contributions of security industry leaders with the George R. Lippert Memorial Award presented by The Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Fred V. Morrone 9/11 Memorial Award presented by the InterPort Police Association.

Security Week will attract decision makers representative of banking, campus, government, hotel, retail and healthcare reflecting strong and high growth sector opportunities for manufacturers, while providing new business opportunities for systems integrators, dealers and installers.

"We have an exciting line-up of events during Security Week," said Ed Several, senior vice president and general manager, ISC Event portfolio. "By bringing these three events together, we are able to offer the Northeast security marketplace with many reasons to network, learn and grow professionally and personally."

Members of the tri-state dealer-integrator associations, Connecticut Alarm & Security Integrators Association (CASIA), and the NYBFAA (New York Burglar and Fire Association), NJBFAA (New Jersey Burglar and Fire Association) and Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Association (PBFAA), will be participating and will be holding their annual conventions during Security Week.

"SIA is proud to be a driving force behind the first annual Security Week," said Gordon Hope, SIA's chairman. "We are excited about the many valuable benefits these events offer to our membership and the industry as a whole."
