Valens and Nextchip Introduce Full Uncompressed 1080p at 60 fps Support to CCTV

Valens and Nextchip Introduce Full Uncompressed 1080p at 60 fps Support to CCTVValens and Nextchip Introduce Full Uncompressed 1080p at 60 fps Support to CCTVValens (booth #5040) and Nextchip (booth #30035) today at ISC West 2013 will demonstrate a CCTV camera based on a new joint reference design that delivers uncompressed 1080p@60fps video with controls and power over a distance of 150 meters (492 feet) over a single inexpensive CAT5e/6 LAN cable. The CCTV over CAT (CCTVoC) camera leverages Nextchip NVP2421 ISP and Valens VS020Tx transmitter chip based on HDBaseT technology to provide for unprecedented long-distance video distribution between cameras and video recorders.

“Security surveillance installers face the same need for the convergence of high definition video, controls and power over long distance and simple, low cost installation that their colleagues in the professional A/V market do,” said Eli Ofek, vice president of product, Valens Semiconductor. “The collaboration between Valens and Nextchip demonstrates how surveillance cameras can be installed, operated and maintained at the highest quality and in the simplest form.”

Nextchip is a global leader in ISPs and other semiconductor chips specific to video security systems.

The Valens VS020 chipset enables long-reach wired connectivity of uncompressed HD video via a standard single LAN cable. Valens VS020, based on the company’s HDBaseT technology, is a unique solution that is tailored to address the specific needs of the CCTV market. HDBaseT technology has become a global standard for high definition multimedia connectivity within the consumer and professional A/V markets.

“The combined solution presents a low cost option for security installers to have the highest possible video quality with simple one-time plug-and-play installation,” said Gideon Park, sales director, Nextchip. “We decided to unveil this joint reference design at ISC West so we can hear directly from industry professionals think about how this can help to solve their cost and operational issues.”

The joint reference design will be featured during ISC West at the Valens booth, 5040 and at Nextchip booth 30035 in the Korean Pavilion inside the Sands Expo and Convention Center. To schedule a one-on-one demonstration on a specific day and time, please email: [email protected]
