Milestone XProtect Corporate 2013 R2 is Released

Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), announces the release of Milestone XProtect Corporate 2013 R2 is ReleasedMilestone XProtect Corporate 2013 R2. With this version of XProtect Corporate, Milestone extends their offering of distributed security solutions by widening the array of products that can be interconnected with XProtect Corporate, while simplifying the licensing of its more advanced Milestone Federated Architecture concept.

With support for an unlimited number of cameras, users and sites, XProtect Corporate offers a centralized, single-management interface for efficient surveillance administration including all connected devices, regardless of the size or distribution of the implementation.

Milestone Interconnect provides a flexible way to gain central surveillance operation across geographically dispersed sites. It combines remote Milestone surveillance installations with the advanced surveillance functions of XProtect Corporate in one cohesive security solution.

With this new 2013 R2 release, Milestone strengthens its offerings of distributed surveillance solutions by including XProtect Expert, Milestone Arcus  embedded solutions and Milestone Husky appliances to the list of products that can be connected to an XProtect Corporate system using Milestone Interconnect.

The ability to detect incidents and remotely monitor interconnected sites from one central system reduces operational costs and the need for on-site visits. Intelligent video storage management makes optimal use of available network resources, as well as remote and central storage.

“Covering the full Milestone XProtect product line, the new Milestone Husky NVR series, plus appliances and cameras embedded with Milestone Arcus software, Milestone Interconnect offers ultimate flexibility in matching any need for functionality, system form factor or budget,” said VP Corporate Business at Milestone Systems Bjorn Eilertsen. “This will allow customers to truly grow with our solutions. Those who initially have installed isolated XProtect VMS or NVR point solutions, or even embedded Milestone Arcus systems from any of our Milestone Arcus technology partners, now can interlink them by adding an operational overlay based on Milestone Interconnect and a central XProtect Corporate system.”

In addition to the extension of the Milestone Interconnect offering, the use of Milestone Federated Architecture is now provided totally free of charge. This means that customers building federated systems with Milestone’s top range products XProtect Corporate and XProtect Expert can do so without the need to buy extra licenses.

XProtect Corporate 2013 R2 is bundled with a new release of XProtect Smart Wall which gives seamless manual or rule-based display of any camera in a distributed setup. This includes integrated and interactive, multi-layered maps, as well as a consolidated Alarm Manager for comprehensive overview and fast response.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now
