Help Children in Need by Participating in Mission 500 Events at ISC West 2014The professional security community continues to show its unyielding support of children in need with an unprecedented number of charitable events and programs scheduled to take place at ISC West 2014. Proceeds from the sponsored activities will be donated to Mission 500 and distributed by World Vision to children in crisis around the globe.

“As we move well beyond our initial goal of sponsoring 500 children in need around the world, the professional security industry continues to show its dedication to this all important effort,” said Advisory Council Member/Volunteer of Mission 500, George Fletcher. “As we mark the 5th anniversary of the Mission 500 5K/2K, our growing roster of sponsors continues to provide new platforms for donations and volunteer work from a growing number of corporate and individuals benefactors.”

Tuesday, April 1

11th Annual AIREF Golf Classic

A Master’s greens flag autographed by 25 Master’s winners including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and more will be auctioned off by the Electronic Security Association with proceeds going to Mission 500. The event will be held at the Revere Country Club’s Lexington Course.

 Wednesday, April 2

Visitor Appreciation Donation Program

Altronix Corporation is donating $2 to Mission 500 for each show attendee who registers at their booth. The Visitor Appreciation Donation Program will be in effect for the duration of the show.

School Kit Build

HID Global is sponsoring a school backpack build in the ISC West Visitor registration area between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Show attendees are encouraged to spend a few minutes assembling these school kits that will be donated to a Title One School in the Las Vegas area.

Bonanza Gathering

COPS Monitoring is sponsoring a Bonanza Gathering from 6pm-10pm at Gilley’s in Treasure Island complete with dinner, drinks, a live band and door prizes, plus the chance to participate in a mechanical bull riding contest for cash and prizes.  Admission is free to alarm dealers, but space is limited. COPS Monitoring will make a donation for every person that attends the event.

Security 5K Pasta Feed

Qolsys invites participants to carbo-load on the eve of the Security 5K/2K. The special luncheon will be held in the Bellini 2101 conference room at the Sands Convention Center between 3:30-5:00pm.

Nightclub Cocktail Reception

Pelco is sponsoring a reception at the Hakkasan Nightclub in the MGM Grand from 7 to 10pm. The event will feature a video and photos from a kit build the company recently staged on behalf of Mission 500, along with video from last year’s Security 5K/2K.

Security 5/2K Charity Run/Walk and Awards Presentation  

Mission 500 marks the 5th anniversary of the Security 5K/2K run/walk, a cornerstone of Mission 500’s fundraising efforts at ISC West 2014. The event is a collaboration between organizing sponsors United Publications, publishers of Security Systems News and Security Director News; Reed Exhibitions; and Mission 500. Core sponsors of the 2014 Mission 500 5K/2K are Alarm.com, Altronix Corporation, Axis Communications, Ditek, HID Global, Honeywell, LRG Marketing Communications, Pelco by Schneider Electric, and Safety Technology International. Additional sponsors include Cops Monitoring, Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), Samsung, Brivo, Freeman, Monitronics, Qolsys, Bolide Technology Group, Security Industry Association, and PSA Security Network. The race is operated by Las Vegas Running Company, a race management company that stages around 25 road races each year across Southern Nevada. The 5K/2K takes place at 7:30am, with an awards ceremony to follow at 5:15pm at the Sands Expo and Convention Center on the ISC show floor.
