AT&T Offers Help to Customers Affected by BreachBetween April 9th and 21st of this year, personal information of AT&T customers were hacked when one of the company’s service providers violated their privacy and security guidelines by accessing account information without authorization. In response, AT&T is sending out letters to its customers confirming this breach.

AT&T has planned to offer its customers one year of free credit monitoring to help mitigate any fraudulent activity or identity theft as the company is working with law enforcement to investigate this breach.

It is unknown how many accounts were accessed; however, per California law, companies must notify customers if data breaches affect more than 500 people. If you believe you could have been affected by this breach, it is highly recommended to place an alert on your credit report to watch for any signs of fraudulent action.
