VidSys Demonstrating its New Release 7.7 PSIM Software at ASIS

VidSys, a provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, announced that it will demonstrate the latest release of its award winning product at ASIS in Atlanta, September 29 through October 1 in Booth #3565. In 7.7, VidSys debuts National Language Support, meaning the software can be easily adapted to various languages without code changes.

VidSys founder and CTO James Chong addressed the evolution of the PSIM category, a term he helped coin in 2006.

“PSIM started as an integration platform for operation centers to improve situational awareness using physical security sensors and data.  It is now rapidly evolving to encompass other data sources, including building management, radars/sonars, asset tracking, social media and IT security and management systems.”

VidSys has grown its business this year internationally in Central and South America, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region with both public and large private sector clients.  Its software meets key U.S. federal information assurance standards, to include compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), which is being transitioned to a broader risk management framework as outlined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Chong said that investing in a PSIM platform results in a strong return on investment for both enterprise and government clients.

“Savings realized include but are not limited to staffing efficiencies, false alarm reduction and improved adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements,” said Chong. “Many of our projects begin with a pilot rollout with the customer and we use that as a foundation to expand enterprise-wide.”
