Honeywell Adds Schlage AD Series Locking Systems to Pro Watch Access Control Suite

Allegion PLC, a provider of security products and solutions, announced Honeywell Pro-Watch customers will be able to implement access control on more doors by integrating the Schlage AD-Series wireless platform into their security management suite, eliminating the need to run wires to each access point, reducing time and associated labor costs. Schlage AD-Series wireless electronic locking systems provide options - credentials, styles and modes - that add to the Pro-Watch system's flexibility, scalability and control.  For instance, Pro-Watch customers can now simply and efficiently extend their present card systems to wireless portable readers, elevators and parking gates. Since being introduced in the autumn of 2009, the AD-Series has become one of the industry's most in-demand peripheral solutions.

"With the AD-Series, Honeywell Pro-Watch users will be able to customize a solution to secure their facilities today while protecting their access control investment for years to come," emphasized Brad Aikin, product management leader for electronic locks at Allegion. "The modular, open architecture AD-Series lets users customize door openings with options such as credential reader type, networking, finish and levers to create a perfect fit. Yet, as their business needs change, so can their access control solution to new credential technologies, a variety of network protocols, increased security levels and system expansions. Upgrades can be as simple as interchanging a module."

"Leveraging the Schlage AD-Series, Honeywell customers will not need to worry about installing a new security platform because they are concerned that it won't be able to serve their needs in the future," added Aaron Barbe, edge devices product manager at Honeywell. "The features that make the AD-Series flexible and adaptable today also make them scalable for tomorrow. Developed with an open architecture, the AD-Series makes integration into customer systems easy."

Contrary to purchasing a reader and a lock, components that have been traditionally located around the door are now integrated into the AD-Series lock itself to yield a smarter solution and more value for the investment. The locks provide multiple, interchangeable credential reader modules and wireless devices so that access control can now be installed at doors where it had been previously infeasible. The AD-Series electronic locks are compatible with all popular exit devices, provide a host of power and cylinder options, offer field configurable settings and include a wide variety of finishes and levers.
