NSA May Have Used Second-rate Domains for Cyber Espionage

Security researchers have discovered what they suspect to be an NSA cyber espionage program called Equation that uses undiscovered methods to plant malware in hard drive’s firmware. The viruses associated with this malware are typically activated as soon as the device is plugged in; no further action is required. This malware is difficult to detect as well as delete, and if this is true, the NSA could have already accessed and continue to access the world’s computers.

In the meantime, Kaspersky researchers have discovered and published a list of URLs that this malware uses to pass information back to the NSA. This agency chose to register and use second-rate domains, which have now been compromised so they no longer have any use for them.

Maybe they should sell the domain names. Do any of the following strike your fancy?
