IDIS To Debut DirectIP to the US Market at ISC West 2015

Global surveillance powerhouse, IDIS, will launch its game-changing DirectIP video surveillance solution at ISC West 2015. IDIS DirectIP is an affordable, plug-and-play, high-definition solution for businesses large and small; and IDIS will demonstrate the quality, simplicity, and flexibility of this latest-generation, high definition, IP surveillance solution at ISC West.

IDIS, an established surveillance leader with more than 1.7 million installations worldwide, has firmly established its presence in Europe and the Middle East in recent years. The company will introduce DirectIP exclusively in the Americas at booth #11053 at ISC West, from April 15-17 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

DirectIP expected to be an industry game-changer

IDIS’s next-generation DirectIP surveillance solutions have been designed to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding security landscape through flexible and cost-effective technology coupled with unrivaled performance, quality and functionality—all in a single-sourced approach to HD that is expected to change the conversation about surveillance technology.

A true one-stop-shop affordable solution, comprising a range of IP cameras, network video recorders (NVR), and monitors—including 4K UHD and H.265 capability—DirectIP delivers unrivaled plug-and-play simplicity, combined with highest-quality performance, compatibility, and a low total cost of ownership.  The DirectIP framework tackles compatibility and the issues associated with existing protocols, which often prevent the full functionality of cameras, network video recorders (NVRs) and other network equipment from being realized.

“DirectIP is designed to provide a simple yet high-performance solution,” said Keith Drummond, sales director for IDIS America. “The framework builds an entire network system from a single source supplier, comprising a range of IP cameras, NVRs, monitors, video management software, as well as switching hubs and accessories.

“With DirectIP, IDIS has eliminated complicated configuration, reduced installation costs, and ensured simple, everyday use—resulting in a significantly lower total cost of ownership for the American marketplace. At ISC West, we will demonstrate how the entire security buying chain in the Americas, from distributors to installers to end-users will benefit from DirectIP.”

ISC West visitors may e-mail [email protected] to book a dedicated time slot to experience this next generation video surveillance firsthand.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
