If you're in Las Vegas a little early next week, the Smart Card Alliance is holding an interesting workshop on Tuesday, April 14 that will focus on smart card use in both the government and business sectors.
Connecting Your Video System to the Internet: Mitigating Your Security Vulnerabilities and Threats will last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Designed for systems integrators, corporate CIOs, CSOs, security director, IT directors and system manufacturers interested in using smart card technology for access control.
Attendees will learn practical guidance on physical access control systems and how smart cards provide high-assurance identity verification.
The workshop costs $470 for Smart Card Alliance members and for all other parties. To find out more about the event or register, visit the ISC West site here.
Once again this year, I plan on using Twitter extensively to give my followers up-to-date information on what is making news at the show. You can find me on Twitter @BrentDirks. I'll start Tweeting with the start of my schedule on Wednesday morning.
My schedule is full of appointments and other events, but if you get a chance during the show, stop me and say hi. I enjoy meeting as many people as possible and learning more about the world of IP and IT security.
Even if you're not going to the show, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] with any show announcements or news. And make sure to keep an eye out for the newsletters from Las Vegas all next week.
