Panasonic Adds VMS to its Portfolio and Introduces Free Panasonic Camera Licensing Program

Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a leading provider of integrated security and video surveillance solutions, recently announced that it will distribute Video Management Software developed by Houston, TX-based Video Insight Inc. A leader in video management software (VMS) technology and now a member company of the Panasonic Group, Video Insights' VMS develops video management solutions for customers in the financial, government, retail, and education sectors. Panasonic Corporation of North America acquired all shares of Video Insight, Inc. on February 10, 2015 as part of its strategy to expand business opportunities for both companies in the North American market.

Complementing Panasonic's popular embedded recording platforms (WJ-NV300 and WJ-ND400) and video management software applications (ASM200 and ASM970), Video Insight's VMS expands Panasonic's surveillance recording and monitoring capabilities even further and fulfills the company's ongoing strategy of delivering choice and flexibility to its end user customers.

Supporting more than 3000 camera models from 100 manufacturers and integrating with the most popular access control systems, Video Insight's VMS is a powerful, yet easy-to-use video management software that delivers a comprehensive VMS experience including intuitive user interface, robust client options for Windows, MAC and mobile devices as well as its own built-in access control. Beginning in May 2015, Panasonic will bundle free camera licenses with its recent model IP cameras (specific models TBA) so in combination with Video Insight software will be offering a highly compelling value proposition to customers seeking a winning combination of premiere brand surveillance hardware and software at attractive price points. The marriage of Video Insight's VMS with Panasonic's full line of existing video management solutions provides customers in education, law enforcement, government and a variety of other growing markets with powerful surveillance recording and monitoring options and the ability to select an embedded or software-based recording solution that best meets their needs.

"Video management software that offers a high degree of integration with a wide variety of market leading cameras and access control systems is becoming increasingly important as customer needs in the video surveillance market become more expansive," said Greg Peratt, vice president, Panasonic Video Solutions Integration Team. "Adding Video Insight's popular VMS offering to our existing line-up of embedded solutions creates a complete, single source offering for our customers and gives them the flexibility to choose the right solution for the right application, without worrying about compatibility issues or protecting their existing video surveillance or access control investments."

"The combination of our top-rated VMS software with Panasonic's extensive portfolio of high-quality cameras and recorders is a win-win for our customers today and down the road," said Video Insight Chief Executive Officer J. Robert Shaw. "Together we can accelerate innovation, enhance product development and provide new and existing customers with better, more innovative security solutions for years to come."

Panasonic will be distributing Video Insight VMS software through its vast network of iPRO certified dealers beginning in May, 2015. Also beginning in May, Panasonic will offer free software licenses with recent model IP cameras (specific models TBA) and competitive licensing fees for third party cameras.
