New Arlo Q Plus Camera Addresses Security Needs of Small Businesses

NETGEAR, Inc. is addressing the security needs of small businesses with the launch of its ArloTM Q Plus - 1080p HD Security Camera with PoE (VMC3040S). Arlo Q Plus has in-demand features such as: brilliantly detailed 1080p high-definition video, two-way audio, rolling seven days of free cloud storage for video recordings — and now also offers wired Ethernet connectivity that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). In addition, Arlo Q Plus has a Micro Secure Digital (MicroSD) memory card1 slot for easy local recording backup to continue recording in the event of a network interruption.

A global networking company that delivers innovative products to businesses, consumers and service providers, NETGEAR will showcase the award-winning lineup of Arlo Security Cameras this week during the ISC West tradeshow. Security installers can visit Booth 23000 of the Sands Expo in Las Vegas to see exciting demonstrations of Arlo products and other innovative PoE solutions for small businesses and smart homes.

Arlo Q Plus brings the simplicity of a DIY smart home product to small and medium business owners, providing an ideal solution for tracking around-the-clock activity within shops and offices, at building entrances, in storage rooms, on loading docks, and by cash registers. Without the need for hard-to-install and expensive hardware, the Arlo Q Plus camera not only easily connects to any existing network via WiFi or Ethernet, but also supports PoE for reliable network connectivity and power through a single Ethernet cable.

Security installers, Value-Added Resellers (VARs), and business owners will be able to install Arlo Q Plus cameras near drop ceilings to conceal cables, and connect to the existing network infrastructure using PoE switches (from NETGEAR and other vendors) that are already installed in the majority of business networks. This PoE capability of Arlo Q Plus eliminates the requirement for a power outlet within reach, or the need to contract an electrician to run new dedicated wiring for power. With an expansive lineup of ProSAFE® PoE/PoE+ switches designed specifically to meet the needs of small to mid-sized businesses,

NETGEAR is an excellent choice for installers who are deploying video surveillance, wireless access points, and VoIP for their clients .

Arlo Q Plus delivers eye-popping 1080p HD video clarity at 30fps and supports night vision revealing every detail even in total darkness. Each Arlo Q Plus camera also provides two- way audio for easy communication with employees in a back room or warehouse. Within just a few minutes, a business owner can customize sound or motion alerts and access live video feeds. With the included rolling seven days of cloud recordings, the business owner can easily access and view previously recorded videos. The optional Continuous Video Recording (CVR) plan offers 24/7 non-stop video recording for business-critical applications such as monitoring a cash register.

"No other PoE camera for small businesses can match the Arlo Q Plus combination of easy setup, free cloud recording, and an industry-leading mobile application, which enables easy remote monitoring from the convenience of your mobile device," said Pat Collins, vice president of NETGEAR Smart Home Products. "Arlo Q Plus is an affordable, hassle-free way to keep watch over a small business or home, day and night. There are no command centers, no extra base stations or DVRs, no contracts, and no maintenance fees."
