Mission 500 Golf Challenge Tees-Up for Children in Need

Event Proceeds will Help Children in Need and the NYFD Burn Center Foundation

Mission 500, a non-profit initiative focusing on the security industry and dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis will host a Fall golf tournament. Proceeds raised at the event will benefit the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation Children’s Camp. The camp makes it possible for burn victims under the age of 18 to attend a program where they can enjoy their time together while putting their physical scars aside.

The Mission 500 Golf Challenge will take place Sept. 21, 2020 at the Bella Vista Country Club in Marlboro, NJ, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and culminating with cocktails and dinner at 4 p.m.

“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to make fundraising particularly difficult, and while Mission 500 is now primarily focused on virtual events, golfing has provided one of the few physical group activities deemed to be safe when mandated social distancing and preventive measures are followed,” said Ken Gould, chairman of the board at Mission 500. “Although the Mission 500 Golf Challenge will be different in many respects to ensure this is a safe event, it remains in-step with our longstanding goal of improving the lives of children in need by helping to support the work of organizations like the FDNY’s Burn Center Foundation Children’s Camp.”

Like Mission 500, the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1975 by NYPD Firefighters, the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation remains dedicated to the advancement of burn care and the proper treatment of burns, research, prevention and education.
