Back to the Future

Back to the Future

Catchy title for a movie, right? Seems like ISC West is back and the future looks strong.

For starters, it’s terrific to actually see old friends, and opportunity to make new acquaintances.

There are numerous new solutions, of which you’ll find in our post-tradeshow electronic Product Showcase.

Manufacturers are genuinely excited to show off new technology. End users and integrators I’ve talked to are pleased with what they see, feel and examine.

Yes, it’s nice to be back in person.

My media friends and I were able to visit with dealers and partners of Altronix on Tuesday evening. Al Forman throws a bash to get it all started. We’ve been doing this for a few years now. Thanks Al, great to see you.

Wednesday morning was the annual Axis Communications press breakfast. It was a terrific presentation of Martin Gren and Fredrik Nilsson explaining partnerships, consistency and forward thinking. Thank you gentlemen, nice breakfast and great to see you to kick off the show.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.” 3
