It Is Just About Time

Looking back on my security industry experiences, I believe I have attended just about 25 GSX events, formerly known as ASIS. I have many stories, and met some amazing people.

Years ago, in Las Vegas, I was invited to a press dinner with many other members of the press. I did not know a single soul. As I was moving to my seat, I accidentally struck the emergency exit, and caused quite the commotion. My first instinct was to look down and see what I had done.

Besides making an awful first impression, I noticed the security solution was an ASSA ABLOY crash bar. The emergency system worked just like it was meant to perform, and when everything was sorted out, a major emergency or evacuation was avoided. Since that time, I have learned that SDC Security is thick in this part of the security world.

While there are multiple manufacturers of this product, others include Dynalock, Detex, Von Duprin, Adams Rite, Yale, and Securitron by ASSA ABLOY. I am certain there are other manufacturers, and thankfully, I did not have to learn this lesson twice. I also think that is about the same time as I lost my hair.

Looking forward to this year’s event in Atlanta. I have two sons in the area. One is a chef; the other makes movies. See you all in Atlanta, soon. Be safe.
