ISC East Recap: The Proof is in the Puddin’

Many comments offered regarding tradeshow attendance, and person-to-person events following that crazy pandemic were answered quickly by attending ISC East 2022. Sure, events like this have been making their way back into mainstream professional contact.

Walking the show floor in New York was an adventure this year. My take on activity, especially the first day of ISC East, brought out a hall full of security seekers, and exhibitors ready to conduct business at the highest levels.

ISC East is certainly the Northeast’s leading security and public safety event. Each year, security dealers, installers, integrators, and consultants, along with corporate, government and law enforcement/first responder practitioners, convene in New York City to network, learn and evaluate the latest technologies and solutions from premier exhibiting brands.

The combination of one-on-one conversations with top innovators, high-quality special events and cutting-edge education and training, make ISC East the most comprehensive East Coast event to guide the industry in getting back to business.

New York is a terrific city to meet up with numerous industry experts. I am calling out two of my friends who make the security industry a successful venture. Pierre Bourgeix is the chief technology officer and founder of ESI Convergent. Located in Cleveland, Bourgeix can answer, or will find an answer, for any security issue that might arise. Happy to bump into Pierre, I expect more will come from him in future publications and digital offerings at Security Today magazine.

If you do not know Chuck Andrews, you must make time for an in-person meet. You can find Andrews at www.friendsofchuck.com. This professional security network exists for the purpose of networking, local employment, business opportunities and discovering new emerging security technologies. That network consists of more than 100,000 friends. Above all else, you should be one of Chuck’s friends.

From my perspective, ISC East was a whopping success. The proof is in the puddin’. Make sure to look at dates for ISC West, March 29-31, 2023, in Las Vegas.

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
