John Afzelius joins Gunnebo as Chief Financial Officer

John AfzeliusGunnebo Group has appointed John Afzelius as Chief Financial Officer. He starts his new position as of January 2023, taking over from Åke Bengtsson.

Afzelius has a background as CFO in both listed and private companies, with extensive experience running and developing financial functions at a range of businesses serving international markets. He will be a member of Gunnebo’s Group executive team.

Afzelius joins Gunnebo from Nelly Group AB, a major Nordic online fashion retailer, where he was CFO. Previously, he was CFO at Transtema Group AB and Thin Film Electronics ASA, and had senior positions at Orkla ASA, Catella and Nordea. He is a graduate in engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and in economics from Stockholm University, and a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute in the USA.  

Gunnebo Group’s president and CEO Stefan Syrén said, “I am delighted to welcome John Afzelius as our new CFO. Gunnebo has undergone a major change process, and now has two global business units ready for growth through innovation and market expansion. John will play a key role in this process.”
