Bosch Highlights AI-Based Solutions to Detect, Deter and Investigate Risks at GSX

At GSX, September 11 – 13, 2023, in booth 4325, Bosch will showcase new artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions that improve detection of security and safety risks to facilitate faster responses. Booth visitors will experience a new Gun Detection System that pairs video and audio AI, an automated night watch solution that deters theft and damage around building exteriors, and more.

Pair video and audio AI for gun detection

The Gun Detection System from Bosch is the first to pair video and audio AI for a multi-layered approach designed to detect guns at schools. When a person brandishing a gun approaches a school, a Flexidome 5100i camera with Intelligent Video Analytics Pro (IVA Pro) Visual Gun Detection is designed to promptly alert personnel. If a gun is not visually detected, the second layer – a Flexidome panoramic 5100i camera with Intelligent Audio Analytics – is designed to detect and classify gunshots while accurately estimating the direction from which they originate. The near-invisible camera-based Gun Detection System improves safety while offering a frictionless flow and welcoming atmosphere to promote learning. It is compatible with third-party video management systems that support Bosch analytics.

Automate building security with intelligent systems

AI is also driving an automated detection and deterrence solution for security around buildings that is ideal for detecting persons or vehicles in parking lots or restricted areas when a building is closed. As part of the solution, a Flexidome multi 7000i IR multi-imager camera with built-in Intelligent Video Analytics detects persons or vehicles and triggers a Mic moving camera to pan, tilt, and zoom to the object’s location and track its movements with IVA Pro Intelligent Tracking. Simultaneously, the detection turns on the camera’s white light illuminator and triggers an IP-based horn loudspeaker to play an automated message, informing the intruder that they are under surveillance. This automated solution helps prevent damage or theft.

The solution includes the new VideoView+, a cloud-enabled video management application, which enables users to view live and recorded video and manage events when an incident occurs. Ideal for various types of situations and markets, including users needing the flexibility to surveil multiple sites remotely, VideoView+ is a cost-effective cloud solution for remote video surveillance. Instant event notifications enable users to proactively investigate issues via a desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, or tablet. Event clips, including a video analytics overlay, can be revisited anytime from anywhere using a list overview with a clear timeline.

Prioritizing safety, security, and privacy for buildings

At the show, Bosch will preview cameras, including the Dinion 5100i IR bullet and the Flexidome corner 7100i IR, which feature IVA Pro Buildings. IVA Pro Buildings, based on deep learning, is ideal for advanced intrusion detection in and around buildings – providing reliable alerts for line crossing, loitering, and person and vehicle detection, while ignoring false triggers. No metadata needs to leave the camera as AI processing is carried out on-edge, ensuring privacy. The Dinion 5100i IR bullet camera ensures outdoor detection day and night with high image quality in low light and long-range infrared illumination (IR). The Flexidome corner 7100i IR camera offers a wide field of view without blind spots, excellent image quality in low light with invisible IR, and privacy masking for sensitive areas, making it ideal for monitoring enclosed spaces. A no-grip design supports a ligature-resistant environment, preventing the attachment of cords, ropes, or other materials to avert self-harm.

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
