Counting Every Step

Counting Every Step

I guess I’m not the only person who relies on a smartphone to count every step at a tradeshow. It makes for interesting conversation when a group of people get together, pull out their smartphones and read who has logged the most miles.

Just for the record, on Sept. 11, opening day of GSX, I logged in 11,952 steps. It appears I sluffed off a little bit on Day Two, or else I planned my booth visits a little better. I only clocked in 9,845 steps, and on Sept. 13, 7,068.

For a short-term exercise plan, this seems to work out quite well. I’m going to have to take a break for a couple of days, but one thing I do appreciate is being offered a place to sit and a cold bottle of water at every stop along the way.

By my account, GSX 2023 seemed to be extremely successful. Next year’s tradeshow will be held in Orlando, provided a hurricane doesn’t wipe Florida off the map. As far as I’m concerned, ASIS is welcome to come back to Dallas every other year.

I’m always asked during the tradeshow what I have seen in terms of new technology. My keen observation is more about the people invested in the industry. Manufacturers are excited about their products and solutions, and it shows. End users are genuinely interested in getting bang for the buck, and this week there was plenty of activity.

Great tradeshow, let’s do it again next year.
