Inovonics Debuts Sleek New Wireless Duress Card at ISC West

The wearable EN2242 features haptic feedback and real-time tracking to enhance safety for workers in high-risk environments.

Inovonics is showcasing its new EN2242 Duress Card this week at the ISC West security conference, signaling a shift toward more ergonomic wearable safety technology.

The device is designed to move away from the bulky form factors traditionally associated with panic buttons. Instead, the card-shaped wearable is lightweight and intended for all-day use in sectors such as healthcare, education and retail.

"We took a different design approach with our new Duress Card that moves beyond the traditional bulky form factor," said Glenn Longley, chief product officer at Inovonics. "In addition to providing a better overall user experience, our new Duress Card also includes a host of new features that further enhance safety and security."

The EN2242 allows users to trigger up to three different alarm conditions. When a button is pressed, the card provides silent confirmation through vibration and LED lights, ensuring the wearer knows the signal was sent without alerting an aggressor.

The technology utilizes the company's EchoStream wireless network to maintain signals across large commercial facilities. When integrated with cloud-based location services, the system can pinpoint the exact location of a staff member in distress.

Additional features include a waterproof casing and a sealed long-life battery. The units are being sold in five-packs to facilitate departmental rollouts.
