With ASIS 2013 officially in the books, I believe this tradeshow made a major upswing in the B-to-B business this year. It was a great show, and I would have to say that 95 percent of the exhibitors felt the same way.

Concept of Big Data Conquered at ASIS 2013

As day 2 of ASIS 2013 came to a close, I was excited to attend the after-show functions but a little sad that there was only one more day of this trade show. I have found that the people who make up the security industry as a whole are some of the friendliest, most down-to-earth people who genuinely care about others. In my opinion, this has been the "heart" of ASIS 2013.

Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
