Cooper Notification Continues Tour At Higher Education Campuses

Cooper Notification recently announced additional dates and locations for its mass notification system (MNS) educational tour at university and college campuses across the United States.

The tour, which began in Washington in January and will continue throughout the year, displays Cooper Notification’s indoor, outdoor and text/voice mass notification solutions. In addition, the tour will instruct emergency officials and university administrators how to effectively communicate to students, staff and the public before, during and after an event. The live demonstration will be shown through Cooper Notification’s multilayered solutions.

New locations and dates for the launch include Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Southern California, Nevada, East Texas, Mississippi and North Carolina in March; Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York and Washington, D.C., in April and May; and North Carolina, South Carolina, northern California, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana in June and July. More dates will follow. The company’s Web site, www.coopernotification.com, features a more detailed listing.

On the tour, Cooper Notification’s technical experts use the company’s mobile command and response vehicle to showcase the WAVES (wireless audio visual emergency system) high-power speaker array, which broadcasts emergency messages over wide areas; the SAFEPATH indoor voice evacuation system; and the Roam Secure Alert Network for emergency text alerting. Cooper Notification’s Wheelock and MEDC branded fire and security appliances and devices also will be featured.

Cooper Notification’s MNS tour coincides with the U.S. House of Representatives passing the College Opportunity and Affordability Act of 2007 bill Feb. 7. The act requires colleges and universities to issue public warnings within 30 minutes of an emergency or threat, as well as notify the public with more campus safety information. Cooper Notification’s solutions are designed to exceed this criteria by delivering messages within seconds.
