Tyco Security Products’ Security Design/Technology Symposium Draws 100 Security Consultants

Tyco Security Products announced today that the company hosted its 10th annual Security Design/Technology Symposium Nov. 12-14 at the Estancia LaJolla Hotel & Spa hotel in La Jolla, Calif.

The event, which this year hosted more than 100 consultants, is held annually to provide the security consulting community company-specific product information and other educational opportunities as well as to provide a forum for discussion on industry trends and customer feedback.

The three-day conference provided attendees with a variety of business and security-related educational courses focusing on cloud computing, corporate security trends, how to mitigate corporate security risks, and how to maximize performance in a competitive environment.

Sessions focused on Software House's flagship C?CURE 9000 solution, and American Dynamics' growing portfolio of IP solutions, which includes victor, a unified video management interface, and the new Illustra Series of IP cameras. In addition, attendees received an overview on Kantech's Managed Access Control solution.  Two separate days of technology showcase sessions enabled consultants to speak directly with product management and engineering teams.

"I've been an independent security consultant for 10 years and 22 years as a security professional and have been invited to many events like this over the past two decades," said Michael Crocker, CPP, president of Michael Crocker & Associates. "This was, by a wide margin, the best organized and executed program that I've attended. More importantly, the in-depth product and industry discussions and networking experience with the Tyco Security Products team and my peers was invaluable."

Motivational speaker Lt. Col. Rob Waldman, who overcame massive claustrophobia and a fear of heights to become a highly decorated combat fighter pilot with more than 65 missions in Iraq and Serbia, served as the keynote speaker for the symposium. Waldman is the author of New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller "Never Fly Solo."
