Hacker Reveals Personal Information of Miami Cops, Judges

You would think that police have enough to worry about, but in Miami they now frightened by the idea that their personal information is now searchable online.

Circulating online is a searchable online database that reveals the names, birth dates and home addresses of more than 7,500 South Florida police, prosecutors, judges and other public officials whose personal information is – or was – protected by law.

A quick view will show that even FBI agents, Secret Service agents and Homeland Security agents are included in the database.

Those affected received a message from Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s office urging them to take additional measures to stay safe in the midst of the breach. They are instructed to be vigilant of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity.

While there are investigations into the how the information became public, there are still no leads as to who, specifically, is responsible. There have been theories circulating online, such as Russian hackers broke into the data after being ordered by some that are angry over police abuses.

As of March 4, the database was still open to the public.
