Three Standouts at ISC West

It's no secret that ISC West is full of top-notch security companies from across the globe. Walking through the exhibit hall is like treading across a never-ending sea of amazing solutions, products and brand new innovations. While doing some research, there were three companies that made me take notice of their offering that will be showcased at Vegas this week.

Inovonics – Booth #7065

This company provides wireless intrusion and mobile duress devices, senior living and submetering transmitters, signal and control sensors, and add-on, serial and IP receivers for integration into a wide variety of application specific hardware and software solutions. They'll be showing their EN7017 survey kit and app while at ISC West; this app gives security professional wireless blueprints before doing an install.

"Our channel partners expect to be able to efficiently and accurately quote a job, without any guesswork, and certainly without any change orders. The new Inovonics EN7017 survey kit and app answers this call, clearly letting a sales rep know when and where a repeater is needed, so that every rep can be a wireless expert – even if it's their first time quoting a wireless job," said Scott Fincher, senior product manager at Inovonics. The company will showcasing other products, such as their new water detector and wireless smoke detector.

MONI Smart Security – Booth #22031

Offering a $25,000 signing bonus to dealers at ISC West, MONI Smart Security is definitely getting some attention there this year. For dealers who sign up, they will also receive an account with their preferred partner, Sales Rabbit. MONI is headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was ranked #1 by J.D. Power in its Home Security Satisfaction Report.

Vicon Industries, Inc. – Booth #10073

In the security industry for 50 years, Vicon is a manufacturer of video management software, high-performance megapixel IP cameras, video storage solutions and access control systems and is unrivaled in its experience in the surveillance market. This year at ISC West, Vicon wil be introducing a wide selection of their H.265 cameras. "State-of-the-art cameras are vital components to any video management system," said Bret McGowan, Vicon's Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, "and any efforts to deliver high-performance and cost-effective end-to-end solutions to our customers must include the right camera options. Our new H.265 cameras will deliver exceptional video quality while optimizing overall system efficiency and reduce long-term operating costs."

If you're attending ISC West this year, you should try stopping by these booths – and prepare to be wowed.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
