According to police, officers received calls about a shooting at a residence in Syracuse at about 9:02 p.m. Thursday. Police arrived to find a crowd of people, with several injured from apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting took place at a memorial service for a man who died of cancer, according to neighbors.

Officers requested additional ambulances and officers. The victims, ages eight to 35, were transported to Upstate University Hospital and in stable condition, Fowler said. He said it wasn’t clear if they were shot inside or outside of the home.
