NAPCO

NAPCO threw a launch party for Air Access, its cell-based access control system. The product operates as an Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) model and is intended for use by small & medium-sized businesses. Users can control functionalities through an easy-to-use app with built-in credentials and control of doors, users and lockdown/threat status. It also provides accounts with access to real-time monitoring services and SMS Alerts.

Also on display was the E-Access Embedded Solution. Its options include 1-, 2-, and 4-door expendable controllers with choice of super-fast readers NFC, Prox, BLE, HF/Mifare. Other features include Secure Remote Management, hybrid access control, secure end-to-end communications and Bluetooth mobile credentials with automated one-click credential-issuing.

OnSolve

OnSolve, meanwhile, unveiled the OnSolve Control Center, a centralized operating hub that empowers organizations to automate workloads and authorize workflows for threats in real time. The solution offers risk intelligence to keep track of potential threats as they develop. It communicates developing threats to registered users per their preference — for example, notifying a business that a police scanner has reported a call of shots fired two blocks away from the office. The solution completes the package by handling incident management, as well.

Salient

Last but not least, Salient’s Chief Product Officer Sanjay Challa took the stage to speak on “Petabytes of Profit: Unlocking the Insights in Video Data.” The presentation provided insight on how video data can be leveraged for use cases beyond security; explored various technology choices and deployment patterns for video management; and discussed various practical considerations and insights in choosing and deploying a VMS. He offered his insight into key decisions to be made, including choosing between open and closed platforms, using ONVIF or a native device driver to acquire data, and how to manage and leverage data among four options (device, stored & processed on site, stored & processed centrally, and using the cloud).
