Montréal Entertainment Hub Streamlines Security Operations With Genetec Platform

ROYALMOUNT adopts a unified security and parking system to protect millions of visitors and support future growth.

Operators of a massive new mixed-use development in Québec have deployed a centralized physical security platform to manage daily operations and accommodate long-term expansion plans.

ROYALMOUNT, a connected district featuring retail spaces, dining, cultural programming, and public parks, expects to draw up to 12 million visitors annually. To protect the high-traffic site and maintain smooth visitor movement, developers selected Genetec Security Center to integrate physical security with ongoing operational management.

The platform consolidates hundreds of surveillance cameras, electronic door controls, digital maps and access schedules into a single operational interface. Rather than managing separate standalone systems, security operators monitor all site access and video feeds through a single view. The software architecture also allows the destination to add new hardware and third-party security software as later construction phases are completed over the next decade.

As part of the property’s traffic and parking infrastructure, specialized automatic license plate recognition cameras process incoming vehicles in roughly two seconds. The setup connects directly with the venue’s payment and vehicle registration software to minimize entry delays across 3,600 indoor and outdoor parking stalls.

Looking ahead, management plans to expand its use of data analytics within the system to track crowd capacity, monitor foot traffic patterns and optimize site operations during major events.
