Live From ISC West: Day 1 Recap

Live From ISC West: Day 1 Recap

We’re here live from Las Vegas, Nevada, to bring you the latest news coming out of ISC West. This time around, we’re partnering with AlertEnterprise (Booth 6071) and Salient Systems (Booth 10053) through our “Live From” program to help them broadcast their latest innovations and plans for the show. If you happen to be here in Vegas, be sure to drop by their booths and say hello. And if you’re not here, keep reading to stay up-to-date on what you’re missing!

AlertEnterprise is showcasing its zero-trust policy based access control system. It’s a cloud service that lets security teams control building access in real time. The COVID-19 pandemic spurred work-from-home and hybrid work schedules that leave fewer and fewer employees coming to the office full time. And as more employees come and go from the office at odd hours or on irregular schedules, it becomes harder for security teams to track who’s in the building and whether they’re allowed to be there.

The cloud service lets organizations create their own polices regarding who’s allowed into the building, as well as where and when. From there, they can create actions based on that. For example, an employee who typically works 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. may not be given access at 8:30 p.m. Contract employees who work off-shift hours may trigger a request for two-factor authentication. The cloud-based authorization service gives security teams the luxury of delivering real-time company policy evaluations, as well as the ability to override potentially high-risk 24/7 badge access to certain doors.

AlertEnterprise also hosted a happy hour from 4–5 p.m. PST, while CEO Jasvir Gill and CSO Mark Weatherford spoke at a session titled “Why Digital Transformation and Security Are the Only Ways Forward.”

Salient Systems is hosting a Customer Cocktail Hour on Thursday, March 24, from 2–5 p.m. Register for a free drink voucher and a chance to win a YETI cooler! They’re also offering one-on-one demos of CompleteView VMS, a best-of-breed video management solution that’s easy to use and deploy, and that’s scalable to meet your enterprise needs for both today and tomorrow.

Make sure to follow us on Twitter at CampusSecur, SecurToday and FredJones007 for the duration of the conference to get updates throughout the day, including news, photos, videos, and more!
