Allied Universal Report Highlights Expected Security Hazards

All is not well with the world. I know that is not breaking news.

It is probably something you don’t want to read and has no reason to be reported in the trade magazines.

Well, here is a sample just the same, the information coming from Allied Universal’s World Security Report.

Here are a few expected security-impacting hazards over the next 12 months.

  • Disruption of energy supplies.
  • War or political instability.
  • Civil unrest such as strikes or protests.
  • Economic instability, such as recession.
  • Geological hazards, such as earthquakes or a landslide. Think volcano.

The outlook of internal security incidents over the next months is a little bit unsettled fraud to misuse of company resources or data. Also be on the lookout for violence against customers or contractors as well as policy violences.

What contributed to intentional insider threats?

  • Influence of misinformation or external radicalization.
  • Financial dissatisfaction.
  • Toxic workplace culture.

Yes, this is commercial security threats at its worst.

Damage to company property is a top three concern in the United States. Theft of company property is the most worrying for the education sector, but a concern to industrials, pharmaceuticals and transportation sectors.

Fraud leads the pack in real estate. Violence against people ranks highest in the IT world and lowest in pharmaceuticals.

It’s an interesting report and worth an hour of your time. Become empowered with knowledge, and make a difference in your sector.
