SIA Adds Speakers to Perimeter Security Lineup
The Security Industry Association expanded its presenter list for an upcoming summer symposium dedicated to physical defense strategies.

New keynote and expert presenters were announce for the Security Industry Association’s upcoming Perimeter PREVENT conference.
The symposium will bring together policymakers, federal personnel, architects, engineers and technology vendors to discuss physical defense strategies for high-value environments. The event focuses on securing the boundaries of government facilities, commercial properties, critical infrastructure and public events.
David K. Hernandez, director of global security design and engineering at The Walt Disney Company, will deliver the afternoon keynote address. Hernandez will discuss integrating perimeter technologies and operational workflows to improve threat visibility, speed up decision-making and build organizational resilience. Hernandez previously helped design programs for Disney’s Global Security Operations Center.
Organizers previously announced a morning keynote chat featuring retired Gen. William J. Walker, who now serves as vice president and corporate security director of enterprise accounts at Allied Universal Security Services. Walker’s background includes service as the 38th Sergeant at Arms for the U.S. House of Representatives and commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard.
The conference will feature panel discussions led by a range of industry specialists. Topics on the agenda include the use of thermal imaging, artificial intelligence-driven video analytics, LiDAR and digital twin visualizations to protect facility borders.
Other sessions will explore crime prevention through environmental design, layered AI systems to reduce false alarms and techniques for securing data center perimeters during and after construction phases.
