SIA Names New International Relations Committee Leaders

The Security Industry Association appointed two Latin American market veterans to guide its global outreach and member advocacy strategies.

A national security trade group has reshuffled its global leadership team to bolster its footprint in foreign electronic security markets.

The Security Industry Association announced that Mariana Ramírez has taken over as chair of the SIA International Relations Committee. Vanesa Cabral will support the effort as the committee's new vice chair.

In their new roles, Ramírez and Cabral will direct the committee's initiatives to represent and advocate for member companies operating abroad. The group acts as a primary resource for security businesses eyeing foreign expansion, with an immediate focus on the Latin American commercial security market. The committee also coordinates international marketing opportunities and drafts outreach strategies alongside foreign trade groups.

Ramírez works as the regional marketing manager for Latin America at Axis Communications, a network video and surveillance corporation. She has 16 years of experience in digital transformation, technology and team leadership, and previously managed regional marketing campaigns for telecommunications firm CommScope. Ramírez has served on the international committee for the past year and works as an ambassador for the SIA Women in Security Forum.

Cabral serves as the Latin America director for Convergint, a global systems integration company. Her 19-year career in the security industry spans business development, supply chain management and corporate partnerships across Europe, Latin America and the United States. She previously assisted the committee with regional networking events, talent recruitment and the launch of inclusion programs in the Latin American sector.

The leadership transition follows the departures of outgoing chair Jason de Souza and outgoing vice chair Mauricio Swain. During their tenures, the previous leaders published specialized research on the Mexican physical security market and established educational programming for regional trade expositions.

The committee's ongoing operations include publishing industry white papers, hosting technical webinars, conducting outreach to universities and managing mentorship programs for young security professionals.
