SimpliSafe Expands Retail Distribution to Walmart Stores

The DIY home security company launches nationwide retail and online availability with Walmart, featuring a curated product assortment.

Smart home security provider SimpliSafe has launched a nationwide retail expansion with Walmart, bringing its do-it-yourself security hardware to the major retailer's physical and digital shelves.

The security systems are available immediately on the retailer's website and across more than 800 brick-and-mortar stores in the United States.

The available product assortment features a curated selection of hardware designed for whole-home configuration. This includes a retail-exclusive seven-piece starter kit that contains three entry sensors, a motion sensor, a glass-break sensor, a keypad and a central base station alarm. The kit is built for tool-free installation and connects via Wi-Fi through a mobile application.

In addition to the starter kit, the rollout includes standalone hardware intended for system expansion, such as the Smart Alarm Wireless Indoor Camera, key fobs and additional environmental sensors.

The retail launch also introduces the company's Outdoor Security Camera Series 2 to the store's inventory. The hardware features artificial intelligence capabilities and integrates with live professional monitoring services, which are designed to detect and deter potential intruders before a breach occurs.

The hardware operates on an open platform that supports self-monitoring or contract-free professional monitoring plans. These optional monitoring tiers provide round-the-clock emergency dispatch capabilities for security, fire and medical incidents.
