Two security professionals have been selected as recipients of the 2026 Denis R. Hébert Identity Management Scholarship, an initiative supporting young industry leaders advancing their education in access control, authentication and data protection.
The Security Industry Association awarded $5,000 grants to Joseph Robles, service coordinator at SAGE Integration, and Kevin Vettorel, chief technology officer at BOS Security. The annual award, established in 2018, honors former SIA board chair Denis R. Hébert for his contributions to identity technology standards, government relations and industry education.
Robles works in San Francisco, overseeing field operations planning, technician scheduling and operational reporting for security integration and life safety environments. He is currently pursuing a project management certificate at UCLA Extension and plans to use the grant to fund further technical training in data analysis, operations improvement and access control.
Vettorel leads enterprise technology strategy and artificial intelligence development at BOS Security following a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force directing military information technology operations. He holds a master’s degree in applied artificial intelligence and plans to apply the scholarship funds toward an advanced data analytics certification and a doctoral program.
SIA formally recognized both awardees during the 2026 AcceleRISE conference held in San Diego. The program supports professional development across key aspects of identity management, including access control, risk governance, fraud prevention and information technology.
