Securitas Technology Releases Global Security Outlook Report

A comprehensive annual study highlights four major technology trends driving physical protection and business continuity strategies.

Artificial intelligence, cloud platforms and autonomous technologies are transforming how global organizations approach physical security, according to an annual outlook report published by Securitas Technology.

The study incorporates insights from more than 16,000 end-user clients across 19 countries, along with research involving more than 575 security decision-makers, industry manufacturers and technical experts. The findings highlight a broader shift toward intelligence-led security models designed to improve operational efficiency and risk management.

Key trends identified in the Global Technology Outlook Report include:

  • Artificial Intelligence Integration: Organizations are deploying AI tools into daily operations to enhance threat detection accuracy, reduce false alarms and accelerate investigative workflows while maintaining human oversight.
  • Cloud Architecture: Centralized cloud platforms and remote management services are replacing legacy physical systems, giving security teams real-time visibility across multiple facilities.
  • Robotics and Drones: Autonomous aerial drones and ground robotics are transitioning into practical use for automated facility patrols, perimeter monitoring and situational awareness in high-risk environments.
  • Ecosystem Cyber Resilience: As physical security hardware becomes increasingly interconnected and data-driven, security leaders are prioritizing network cybersecurity and long-term system integrity to protect connected infrastructure.

The research indicates that security investments are increasingly driven by business continuity, proactive risk management and overall organizational resilience rather than basic facility protection alone.
