Oklahoma Casino To Deploy Petabyte Storage System For IP Video Surveillance Project

Pivot3 Inc. and Connections IT of Tulsa, Okla. recently announced that the Muscogee (Creek) Nation has chosen the Pivot3 High-Definition Storage system for an IP video surveillance project installed and planned by Connections IT.

Creek Nation will use the Pivot3 clustered storage to support the bandwidth and capacity needs of nearly a thousand high-definition IP cameras installed in security-sensitive locations, including table games, cashiers’ windows and kiosks. This installation, supporting more than a Petabyte of storage, represents one of the largest virtual matrix systems (VMS) deployed in the world today.

“We are glad to have had the chance to work with Pivot3 on this important project, which required a leading-edge storage solution to support the size of this installation and the strict requirements of the gaming industry,” said Brody Carlson, founder and president of Connections IT. “We were able to meet all of the functional expectations of Muscogee (Creek) Nation.”

“Our main goal is to protect the assets of the Nation and ensure the integrity of our gaming,” said Jason Nichols, gaming commissioner for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. “We are pleased to say that the Pivot3 solution designed by Connections IT will help us maximize our surveillance efforts in a cost-effective way. We are confident that its implementation will significantly improve our surveillance measures and prepare us for future technologies.”

“The Muscogee (Creek) Nation can scale to Petabyte capacities seamlessly, and can offer massive bandwidth for thousands of cameras through a simple management interface, eliminating the need for specialized storage skills,” said Lee Caswell, founder and CMO of Pivot3. ”We are pleased to see them taking advantage of the amazing cost benefits that our storage solution brings to their heterogeneous environments. We also appreciate the opportunity to partner with Connections IT, a leader in the gaming market, on this installation, which is one of the largest in the gaming industry today.”

“Muscogee (Creek) Nation is our biggest gaming installation in the U.S. at this time. This system has truly demonstrated what IP scalability means, growing from a small IP system to one of the largest in only a few years. The system provides the extensive failover and redundancy features, which are necessary to run a business 24/7 and will eventually become a fully integrated video surveillance and access control solution, offering Muskogee Nation even more advanced capabilities,” said Daryn Drulias, regional sales manager for Genetec.

The Pivot3 solution is a clustered storage array that aggregates capacity and bandwidth using the company’s RAIGE (RAID across Gigabit Ethernet) technology. For large-scale centralized installations such as casinos, airports and railways, the Pivot3 storage introduces a new level of system fault tolerance that eliminates planned downtime and realizes significant cost benefits.
