Frank Abagnale To Keynote 2009 PSA-TEC

PSA Security Network recently announced Frank Abagnale will kick off the 2009 PSA-TEC, delivering the keynote address during the Opening Mixer on Tuesday, May 5.

Samsung Techwin, a PSA supplier partner, is bringing in Abagnale to discuss identity theft.

“We see sponsoring the PSA-TEC keynote speaker as an opportunity to create awareness within the PSA organization about Samsung Techwin,” said Bob McKee, vice president of sales, Samsung Techwin. “We are anxious to show that Samsung Techwin is a whole new organization and felt this was a great vehicle to accomplish this mission. Plus, Frank is an entertaining speaker who was the best con man of his time -- his presentation is sure to be enjoyable and informative.”

Samsung Techwin recently announced the formation of Samsung Techwin America with a key channel strategy of working directly with the security integrator in North America.

“Both Dave Smith and I have a long history with PSA and have watched the organization grow and blossom into one of the most visible and credible dealer organizations in North America,” McKee said. “The strategies of both organizations align because Samsung Techwin is looking to sell our products strictly through qualified integrators while PSA members are looking for competitive products that meet customer requirements, differentiation through technology advantages, and freedom from Internet resellers. We are excited with this new relationship and look forward to working with all the PSA members in the Americas.”

“Samsung Techwin is showing strong support for PSA and our members,” said Nick Langus, director of purchasing for PSA. “It’s motivating to see them playing such a prominent role in the 2009 PSA-TEC. Our members generally reward the sponsors of our programs with increased sales, and I believe this will happen with Samsung Techwin since they have such an impressive range of advanced video security equipment.”

Abagnale was a notorious imposter and fraudster of the 1960s and his thrilling story was told in the award-winning movie, Catch Me If You Can. By age 21, Abagnale had successfully impersonated an international airline pilot, pediatrician, stockbroker, college professor and even an assistant attorney general all while cashing $2.5 million dollars in forged checks.

Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement, and secure documents. For over 30 years he has worked with, advised, and consulted with the FBI and hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and government agencies around the world. 2009 PSA-TEC attendees will hear Abagnale describe his con man escapades and reveal how he learned to live on the right side of the law.
