Public Security And Safety Expo To Premiere At ISC East

After a successful launch at ISC West, Public Security & Safety Expo will co-locate with ISC East, October 28-29, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Public Security & Safety Expo is a targeted event connecting manufacturers and service providers with industry professionals who are responsible for the security of homeland, municipalities and infrastructure, including law enforcement, government and campus safety officials.

Complementing the exhibit hall is a track of educational presentations and interactive sessions specifically designed to update government employees and industry executives on the latest trends and innovations in the field of homeland security.

The conference program kicks off on October 27 before the show opens with a tour of the Joint Transportation Management Center in Long Island City, a world-class Command-and-Control center that enables the New York City Police Department, State Department of Transportation Region 11, New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Office of Emergency Response and other partner agencies to monitor all roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, incident sites and emergencies throughout the five boroughs, and bring together video and sensor data from a wide variety of sources to allow the regional partners to make timely and well-informed decisions.

“With sessions ranging from homeland security to video analytics, plus a unique focus on situation management in the JTMC tour, I’m confident that government officials will find the conference to be fresh and relevant to the issues they face today,” said Mike Johnson, director of industry development for ISC Education.

On the evening of October 27, the First Annual Homeland Security Awards Dinner will take place at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. In addition, the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police will present the third annual Fred V. Morrone Memorial 9/11 Award to Frances Townsend, the national security leader who served as Chair of the Homeland Security Council in the Bush administration. In addition to accepting the Morrone Award, Townsend will deliver the keynote speech at the Awards Dinner.

“At Public Security & Safety Expo, you’ll find a comprehensive event offering a valuable combination of contacts, content, and community,” said Ed Nichols, vice president of the ISC Events. “We’re pleased that Public Security & Safety Expo continues to evolve to meet the growing needs of security professionals in this sector.”
