Gary Shapiro to Transform Security Professionals into Ninja Innovators

The Electronic Security Expo (ESX), being held June 17-21 in Nashville, TN, announced Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), as the featured speaker during the ESA Industry Luncheon and Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 20.

During the luncheon, Shapiro will share insights and anecdotes from his New York Times best-selling book, “Ninja Innovation: The Ten Killer Strategies of the World's Most Successful Businesses.” According to Shapiro, today's most successful businesspeople embrace the same qualities that defined the historical and mythical ninja clans. Shapiro coined a term for these businesspeople – "ninja innovators."

During his keynote, Shapiro will take attendees behind the scenes of today's top enterprises and discuss the vision for the security industry based on original research conducted by CEA, ESA and AE Analytics.

“We’re excited to have Gary Shapiro speak at the ESA Industry Luncheon and Annual Meeting and share his insights and anecdotes about what makes businesses and businesspeople succeed,” says Merlin Guilbeau, CEO and executive director of ESA. “As we’ve seen in years past, bringing in an outside voice to speak to our members can provide them with a fresh look at their businesses and our industry, and we’re looking forward to the vision Gary will share during his presentations.”

In addition to being a best-selling author, Shapiro is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Economic Club of Washington; sits on the State Department's Advisory Committee on International Communications and Information Policy; and has served as a member of the Commonwealth of Virginia's Commission on Information Technology and on the Board of Visitors of George Mason University.

Following Shapiro’s address, ESA will update its members on their latest activities and new initiatives for the association.
