Rolling Out the Red Carpet

By my count this makes about 20 ISC West tradeshows that I’ve attended. Hard to believe but this marks the third decade of traveling to Las Vegas. My, how things have changed.

I’ve been to several tradeshows outside of the United States, but ISC West is the largest security tradeshow in this country. This tradeshow gives you the opportunity to network with more than 25,000 security professionals, offering new products, the latest technologies and many of the same technologies that have not grown old over time. Some new products encompass everything from access control to drones and robotics from as many as 1,000 exhibitors and brands.

The education portion of this event begins next Tuesday at 8:30, followed by the opening of the exhibit floor on Wednesday at 10 a.m. While all this happens on one large show floor space, there are several featured exhibits you might want to check out, including the Unmanned Security Expo, Connected Security Expo, Emerging Technology Zone, Connected Home and the Public Security & Safety Expo.

In collaboration with SIA, ISC features world-class education covering every facet of the security industry including cybersecurity, intelligent physical security, IoT and more. This is an opportunity to learn from the best in the industry. It also is an opportunity to see technologies that are soon to be released, or have just recently hit the market.

One of the side benefits to ISC West, other than networking, there are numerous parties and an overall great time mingling with people in the security industry. It is a good time to share knowledge and gain more information. Walking the show floor is an excellent time to get a little extra exercise.

My staff and I look forward to meeting with several manufacturers during these three days. We present an event, called Live From … where our staff sends out live tweets during the show from our Sponsors, Salient Systems, Stanley Security, Open Options, ReconaSence and Mobotix. I feel like a visit to each of these booths will be time well spent.

I’m looking forward to another ISC West. As I run from booth to booth, grab me and let’s chat.
