Galileo Processing Unveils Cloud Computing for Payment Processing

Galileo Processing Inc., which provides financial payment processing solutions, has announced a new suite of solutions that enable payment card-issuing banks and payment card program managers to leverage the power of cloud computing while ensuring they meet required levels of security, performance, availability and regulatory compliance.

With Galileo Cloud Processing, each client has a dedicated virtual environment that is not shared with any other client. Importantly, this means that clients can preserve their intellectual property and program innovations while not being affected by changes to other clients' environments. Clients now have control over the timing of when new features and functionality are released into their environment. Leveraging Galileo's extensive library of APIs, clients can develop their own applications and unique functionality in support of their card programs. Using Galileo Analytics, clients are able to generate detailed reporting and view their virtual environment's capacity and usage.

"Although limited cloud computing concepts have been claimed by a few startups in the financial services space they have typically been lacking in areas of importance to banks and prepaid program managers, such as processing scale, platform capability, security, availability and ease of integration," said Matt Bentley, chief architect for Galileo. "Galileo has the deep technical experience and best-of-breed technology infrastructure to help their clients maximize and exceed their goals in launching new card programs."

"Galileo's Cloud Computing environment is especially useful for national and regional banks that are looking for a quick implementation but desire a full range of prepaid products such as consumer reloadable, travel, payroll and gift," said Clay Wilkes, chief executive officer for Galileo. "The combination of a powerful technical environment with unrivaled breadth of prepaid card portfolio experience and a world-class service delivery organization is why Galileo will continue to be the processor of choice for issuers and program managers."
