Viscount Announces Executive Appointments

Viscount Systems, designer of telecommunications and electronic door control access systems for the security industry, announces the following executive appointments. Bill Newill has been appointed executive vice president. Newill’s primary responsibility will be managing the company's enterprise-wide sales efforts targeting major accounts and U.S. government markets. Don Williams has been appointed VP, cyber and cloud applications. Williams’ primary responsibility will be managing business opportunities with U.S. government prime contractors involved with intelligence and military projects.

“We are pleased to announce these appointments,” said Stephen Pineau, president and CEO of Viscount Systems Inc. “With the sudden influx of interest from large government and enterprise level end users it was critical that we find extremely qualified and experienced senior personnel to manage these opportunities. Following the awards we received at recent tradeshows we received notification in the past week that the entire family of Freedom bridges have passed UL and FCC certification testing so we are well positioned to aggressively pursue any U.S. project.”

With more than 20 years experience managing sales and marketing at security manufacturing organizations and large system integrators, Newill's knowledge of access control, security systems and RFID technology is well known throughout the industry. Newill began his career with E.I. DuPont and NSA before running his own company for five years, and finally joining the security industry. Prior to joining Viscount, he spent eight years at one of the industry's most widely recognized manufacturers of readers and cards/tags while at the same time developing a new RFID business division for the company. Newill's many industry affiliations include the Security Industry Association board of directors, ASIS International, past chair of the INCITS E-22 National Standards Group and past executive director of the International Association for Identification Technologies. He also is active as a conference speaker and advisor.
