ESA Adds Interlogix as 2011 Diamond-level Partner

The Electronic Security Association announced that Interlogix, a business of UTC Fire & Security, is the exclusive diamond-level Executive Strategic Partner for the 2011 calendar year.

The Executive Strategic Partnership program, only available to ESA associate members, provides funding to support ESA programs that promote and enhance the industry.

“As the sole Diamond Executive Strategic Partner for 2011, Interlogix has committed to the success of ESA and is a major contributor to our mission of advancing the electronic security industry,” said Dom D’Ascoli, ESA president.

“We are proud to support ESA,” said Bob Haskins, vice president and general manager, Interlogix. “We look forward to offering our expertise to their strategic initiatives, particularly in the areas of legislation and standards, which will promote growth for all member companies.”

Kirk MacDowell, Interlogix residential sales manager, commented on the benefits of ESA membership: “By becoming involved in the work of the association, for example in the areas of training and false dispatch reduction, member companies can contribute to the creation of safer communities across the nation – a goal we all share.”

“The Executive Strategic Partnership program is a series of all-inclusive packages that allow partners to support ESA through advertising and sponsorships throughout the year by making one commitment up front,” said George De Marco, ESA Executive Strategic Partnership Program chair. “Through their support as an ESA Executive Strategic Partner, they have made it their responsibility to invest in the future health and well-being of the industry”.

Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
