Palisade Systems Names Spencer Snedecor New Chief Executive Officer

Palisade Systems announced that Spencer Snedecor has joined the company as chief executive officer, effective immediately. In addition, Snedecor has joined Palisade Systems board of directors.

"We are very pleased to announce that Spencer Snedecor has agreed to join Palisade Systems as our new CEO," said Adam Claypool of DeWaay Investment Partners and a Palisade board member. "We believe that Mr. Snedecor's extensive background in the computer network security industry coupled with his proven record in driving profitability and growth will be a tremendous asset to lead Palisade Systems."

Snedecor brings to Palisade Systems more than 30 years of experience in driving technology companies. Snedecor has successfully led three companies – Secure Computing, a computer and network security company; Covelight Systems, a security and transaction monitoring company; and PGP Corporation, a security software company – to three successful exits.  PGP Corporation, a company focused on e-mail privacy and authentication software that Snedecor co-founded, was acquired in 2010 by Symantec Corporation for $300 million. Most recently, as principal with Ten X Consulting, he provided executive leadership in early adopter markets for next generation IT security products and solutions.

"Joining Palisade Systems is an exciting opportunity for me to lead a company with a history of safeguarding customer data across a number of industries including healthcare, financial, government and educational organizations," said Snedecor. "Palisade Systems has a great reputation for its DLP technology and I look forward to developing and delivering technology and solutions to satisfy the data protection needs of mid-market organizations."

Snedecor also held leadership positions as vice president of worldwide channel sales for Guidance Software, a computer software company, and as vice president of sales for the network security business unit" of McAfee, a computer and network security company. With Snedecor's addition to the company, interim CEO Don Schoen will now serve on the board of directors for Palisade Systems.
