Keith Morrow Joins Delta Technology Software Industry Advisory Board

Delta Technology & Software announced that Keith Morrow, a former chief information officer and senior vice president at organizations such as 7-Eleven, CitiGroup and Blockbuster, has joined its industry advisory board (IAB). Delta provides of alert, an on-demand management solution that automates and enforces food safety compliance. alert aims to empower food companies to ship safe products faster and prevent unsafe foods from reaching the marketplace.

"One reason alert performs so well is that we integrate with the complex food industry on a completely practical level," says Bill Pappas, chief executive officer for Delta Technology & Software. "That requires leadership from people who have been in the trenches. Keith has tackled the very problems we're able to solve, and he brings us a wealth of hard-won insight and real world knowledge."

Morrow manages his consulting firm, K. Morrow Associates. It provides strategic technology advisory services for enterprise organizations in the areas of IT effectiveness, technology transformation and e-commerce strategy.

The Delta IAB comprises 15 C-level food industry leaders whose front-line experience fuels Delta's innovative approach to protecting consumers and brands. The board meets regularly to provide guidance on product development and act as an informed sounding board on food safety and market issues.

Morrow was most recently chief information officer for Dallas-based Blockbuster Inc., where he was responsible for strategic enterprise initiatives that included DVD-by-mail and digital media delivery. Prior to that, as senior vice president and CIO at 7-Eleven Inc., Morrow led the modernization of the company's retail information system (RIS), delivering a technology platform that improved retail process execution and enabled the consistent sales performance of 5,800 stores in the United States and Canada.

His professional distinctions include recognition as one of Executive Technology's Top 10 Retail CIOs; CIO magazine's Top 100; InfoWorld's Top 100 IT Visionaries; and one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders. He was inducted into the CIO magazine CIO Hall of Fame in 2008. Texas Governor Rick Perry has appointed Morrow to three terms on the state's Department of Information Resources governing board.

"There's no question it's time for a new standard in food safety automation and enforcement," says Morrow. "Based on everything I've seen in the industry, I'm confident alert is the answer, and I'm very gratified to be able to play a part in rolling it out to a wider audience."
