Trade Show Trends Emerge at ASIS 2015

At all trade shows, there tends to be overall trends within the security industry that emerge from visiting the various exhibitor booths and this year's ASIS is no exception. The following are the top three trends from the show room floor.

1. End user and partner focused: Security companies are poised and focused on relationship building with both end users and integrators. While most are focused on building relationships with integrators first, one company is taking a different approach: DVTEL. DVTEL is focused on customers first and then integrators simply because they love talking with their customers. They want to close the deal with the customers and then bring trusted integrators along who know how to go above and beyond to please end users.

2. Integrations: Security companies are constantly seeking ways in which to enhance their products and services, and most have found the winning combination to be partnering with other companies offering products and services that they need. One such integration is Solink partnering with QNAP enabling QNAP devices to record and store video through Solink's central data management system, thereby combining storage with cloud-based video discovery to deliver fraud prevention as a service to retailers and financial institutions.

3. New products and services: Perhaps one of the most exciting things about tradeshows is learning about the latest and greatest as some security companies wait until certain days within the tradeshow to divulge their latest product or service. This was true of March Networks, who, by listening to end users and integrators, was able to discover a product that was missing in the banking security industry and created it: a covert ATM camera.
