Caress Kennedy with Allied Universal® Receives 2022 Lifeline Humanitarian Award from Covenant House

Award recognizes individual efforts to end teen homelessness

Caress Kennedy, president of the northeast region for Allied Universal®, the leading security and facility services company, was honored by Covenant House with its Lifeline Humanitarian award.

Caress was recognized for her leadership in the security industry providing safety and security to communities throughout the northeast region of the United States, a cornerstone of Covenant House and its Lifeline awards.

“A half-century of experience has placed Covenant House at the forefront in the fight against youth homelessness, and we are honored to have Caress join us in working to achieve a world where every young person has access to safe housing, support, healing, and opportunity,” said Julie Farber, executive director of Covenant House New York. “Caress has built a career providing safety and security to millions and her dedication and commitment to Covenant House’s mission to end teen homelessness is an inspiration to our organization.”

With the help of informed, caring people, Covenant House’s grassroots advocacy efforts have made great strides in defending the rights of homeless teens across the U.S. and Latin America. From combatting trafficking of minors and foster care reform to employment, education, and transitional housing programs, Covenant House builds a bridge to hope for young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking.

“Safety is something very deliberate. It's an environment you create with intention, and so much depends on it,” Kennedy said. “Getting closer to Covenant House, I see all the good that is possible once a young person feels safety has been established. They are free to pursue their education and career aspirations and build up their life skills, confidence, well-being, and creativity. Safety is the very thing that will allow a young person who has faced the most difficult circumstances to thrive.”
