Omnilert Launches AI Camera Health Monitoring

The system supports existing IP camera infrastructure and is designed to reduce reliance on manual inspections.

Security teams can use Omnilert’s new AI Camera Health Monitoring system to identify operational and image-quality problems across camera networks.

The system continuously evaluates camera availability and video usability. Omnilert said it can detect offline cameras, blurred images, obstructions, poor lighting and changes in camera position. It can also identify gradual or intermittent deterioration that periodic inspections may miss.

The platform analyzes more than 120 camera-feed attributes, including focus, clarity, alignment and field of view. A cloud-based portal provides camera health scores and reports that allow security and information technology teams to prioritize cameras requiring attention.

The product joins Omnilert’s AI Gun Detection system, which relies on security camera feeds to identify visible firearms. Omnilert develops camera-based threat detection and emergency response technology.
